Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K (2026) Brings Revamped Slim Design and Faster Everyday Streaming

Amazon’s latest Fire TV Stick 4K (2026), priced at $29.99 today (was $60), arrives in a noticeably slimmer shell that tucks more cleanly behind most televisions and packs easily for travel. Power now comes straight from a compatible set’s USB port through a short included cable, so no separate wall adapter is required and one less cord hangs behind the screen. A quad-core 1.7 GHz processor sits inside with 1 GB of memory and 8 GB of storage, paired with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 so wireless connections stay current for typical home networks.

Video playback reaches a smooth 4K at up to 60 frames per second, making it an excellent choice for handling all of the major streaming formats available, including H.264, H.265, VP9, and AV1, which will stream in effectively compressed form. HDR support is also available here, with HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG all working together to provide a punchier, more colorful image on pricey TVs that support it. The audio is routed through HDMI, so you can get Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Atmos, and all of the related formats, as long as your soundbar or receiver supports them.

A completely new remote is included in the box, which has been rebuilt with an asymmetrical design that makes it extremely easy to grip the correct way in your palm. The metal home button stands out attractively under your finger, and the buttons provide good tactile sensation. On compatible sets, handy controls allow you to adjust your TV’s power, volume, and mute, as well as a customized star button that allows you to quickly access your favorite app or setting. Amazon claims that the new stick is 20-40% faster at reaching your content than a comparable 4K stick from the competition, with apps loading 35% faster and playback starting 20% sooner than on the old hardware.

The UI is now driven by Vega OS rather than the old Android system, which is why you can only download apps from Amazon’s store and sideloading is not allowed. Don’t worry, you can still access all of the big players like Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, and Prime Video, plus Amazon boasts of having thousands of extra films in their shop. Alexa+ comes pre-installed, along with a redesigned Fire TV layout that now surfaces some useful recommendations and allows you to search using only your voice, with no additional setup necessary.
