Kia’s Vision Meta Turismo Nears the Finish Line as a Real Electric Sports Car

Kia designers have pushed the Vision Meta Turismo concept to a point where a fastback version already stands 90% complete and ready for the assembly line. Engineers built this model on a fresh platform created just for high-performance electric vehicles, and every major element from body shape to interior layout matches what buyers would see in showrooms.
Exterior lines follow the smooth flow of a jet aircraft while keeping four doors and a low stance that echoes the earlier Stinger in spirit. The overall form stays simple yet purposeful, with aerodynamic surfaces that cut through air cleanly and give the car a planted feel on the road. A possible estate version could join the lineup later, showing how flexible the basic design remains.

Inside the cabin, engineers focused on making every drive feel personal and engaging for a new group of buyers who grew up with digital experiences. A joystick replaces traditional controls in some modes, while a virtual gear shifter and button launch system let drivers choose how much interaction they want. Three distinct settings change the atmosphere completely: one sharpens responses for quick runs, another turns the cabin into a relaxed space with augmented-reality overlays visible only when stopped, and the third creates a full virtual racing environment through the head-up display and steering wheel.

According to Kia executives, the company is not planning to abandon the type of performance sedans it used to make. Global design chief Karim Habib believes the nearly-complete vehicle is a significant step forward for the company, stating that it hits the ideal balance between a strong driving experience and comfortable sitting, all wrapped up in some rather advanced digital capabilities. Interior design director Jochen Paesen remarked that the emphasis here is on genuine emotional pull rather than merely throwing in phony sound effects and manipulated gear shifts – new purchasers are much more concerned with honest technology these days.

The primary reason for the delay in manufacturing is the high cost of developing a powerful electric powertrain to the level required by this vehicle. However, with electric car prices falling across the industry and customers gradually warming up to the idea, Kia believes the numbers will align sooner rather than later. They already have a more cheap electric city car scheduled for introduction in 2027, which will serve as a good test bed for the new design language before the sports car hits the road.
