Noah Okafor injury update ahead of Tottenham vs Leeds United | Football
Noah Okafor will miss Leeds United’s Premier League game against Tottenham on Monday night due to an injury.
The 25-year-old has been in superb form for Leeds in recent weeks, scoring six goals in his last seven Premier League appearances.
However, Okafor was forced off early in the second half of Leeds’ 3-1 win at home to Burnley last Friday due to a calf problem.
Speaking on Friday, Leeds’ assistant manager Edmund Riemer, who took the pre-match press conference as Daniel Farke is suffering from illness, confirmed that Okafor is ruled out for the team’s trip to Tottenham, as well as their following Premier League game at home to Brighton on May 17.
Leeds are also without Gabriel Gudmundsson due to a hamstring injury, whilecentre-back Pascal Struijk took a knock in training this week and is a doubt for the game against Spurs.
‘As the manager mentioned last week, Gabi will be out for this week and we’ll assess him on a daily basis,’ Riemer said.
‘We’ve got another one with Noah who picked up a calf strain so will miss the next two games. We’re hopeful he’ll be available for the last game. He sustained it after the the FA Cup game, in the right calf. In the Burnley game he pulled the left calf. He’ll likely be out the next two games.
‘Pascal is not going to train today with us, he got a hip contusion and will train individually but we hope he’ll be available.’
Leeds, who are unbeaten in their last six Premier League games, sit 14th in the table with 43 points and will be safe from relegation on Sunday if Arsenal beat West Ham.
