Hasbro Unveils Life-Sized Ultimate Grogu Animatronic with Over 250 Animations and Sounds

Today, Hasbro announced a life-size addition to their Star Wars lineup. The new Ultimate Grogu animatronic stands 14.6 inches tall and weighs almost nine pounds. This figure’s soft fabrics that cover the entire body and head will provide you with a very lifelike sensation. The ears, in particular, have a spongy feel to them and even allow some light to show through, which is a wonderful touch.

One of the most appealing aspects about this figure is the luxury touches that make it feel like it belongs in the Star Wars universe. There’s a lovely soft fabric robe draped over the body, as well as some chainmail accents, a nice cross strap, and even a small satchel, and, of course, some very nice Beskar armor pieces on the chest to complete the look straight out of The Mandalorian and Grogu. What truly sets this figure apart is the sheer number of animations and sounds that bring it to life, over 250 in all, as well as four motors that control 18 points of movement and several sensors that monitor what’s going on around it, such as touch, motion, and even adjacent activities. For good measure, two microphones on board detect sounds from all directions without recording anything.

When you get this out and start playing with it, you’ll notice how responsive it is; simply make a loud noise and watch Grogu react in surprise. Give it a gently pat, and you’ll see some adorable reactions. Lifting it up too quickly may result in a “huff,” and raising both arms in the air may cause it to tilt its head back, while you can also purchase extras to enhance the gaming experience. One of the most enjoyable is the Nevarro Nummy, a cookie that Grogu goes crazy for as soon as you bring it near.

If you’re looking for a little more high-stress play, the grav charge detonator is an excellent choice because you never know what reaction you’ll get. Grogu will sometimes just stand there, confused what to do, while other times it will begin attempting to dismantle the gadget with some impressive Force-like techniques. One of the advantages of this figure is that you can choose from a variety of modes. The explore mode is ideal for watching Grogu go about its business and react to its surroundings. If you just want to show it off, put it in display mode and it will cycle through a variety of positions and animations.

The power supply is straightforward, as it requires four D-cell batteries, or you can simply connect it into a USB-C port if you like. To make things easier, the batteries are kept separate from the cord, allowing you to replace them out as needed. Hasbro was extremely fortunate to have such excellent resources at their disposal, since Lucasfilm and Disney provided them with extensive assistance, and they even had the opportunity to visit the sets of The Mandalorian and Grogu to acquire a firsthand understanding of the characters. To ensure that the sounds were perfect, they used some real audio from Skywalker Sound recordings.

Preorders for this new figure began today, and it is available via Hasbro Pulse or your local shop. The first edition (shipping in late 2026) is a treat for fans, with special packaging and a collector card to make it even more special, all for $599.99. The regular edition will be available in early 2027, priced at $599.99.
