If Batman Drove a Lamborghini Murciélago, Liberty Walk’s Version Delivers the Perfect Match

Liberty Walk, a Japanese performance shop, has a long history of creating ridiculous, widebody modifications, and their work on a 2007 Lamborghini Murciélagos LP640 coupe pushes this to new heights. This Murciélago was originally sold in the United States, but it wound up in Japan in 2012, where it was given a very significant makeover by Liberty Walk’s Silhouette Works GT Evo treatment before making a few more long-distance excursions to Canada and back to the States.
The Murciélago is painted a deep, glossy black from nose to tail, and Libery Walk’s body package adds gigantic flares to the wheel arches, a hefty rear diffuser and side skirts, and a massive rear wing that spells ‘I mean business’. The front fascia is inspired by the one-off Reventon, with its ultra aggressive bumper, additional lighting, modified headlamps, and a revamped hood portion that bulges out in all the right places. Then, mounted on top of the roof, is a massive aftermarket air scoop, but whether it truly works or is only for show is unknown. A new bumper, diffuser, wing, and one-of-a-kind taillights complete the stunning transformation at the back.

The black 18-inch wheels up front give way to 19-inch versions at the back, both supplied by Rohana in association with Liberty Walk and wrapped in some really grippy Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber. Stopping power comes from bright yellow calipers clutching nicely drilled rotors, while the Ideal Air Max suspension system allows the car to descend as low as it wants or lift as high as it needs, with the original front axle lift still in place. When the scissor doors finally open, you can see what’s been done to the interior, and to be honest, you’ll be happy to see that it’s pretty untouched by the outward makeover, with only a few minor changes here and there.

The seats are upholstered in black leather with a contrasting yellow pattern going completely across the seats, dashboard, and door panels – and for good measure, there’s some lovely carbon fibre trim to give the place a bit of a sporty feel. A Pioneer audio system handles the music, and the rear view mirror (which is an aftermarket addition) only shows the real-time video feed, while a digital readout is cleverly positioned immediately above the primary instrument cluster on the left side.

Under the hood is a powerful 6.5-litre V12 engine producing 632 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque, which is routed to all four wheels via an E-gear six-speed automatic transmission and a limited slip differential to keep things interesting. The car has only 20,000 miles on it, and the builder recently changed the alternator, the oxygen sensor, and the battery, so it’s both low mileage and mechanically sound.

Then there’s the entire auction thing, as this one ended on April 4 on Bring a Trailer for a reasonable $344,000, with a lot of interest from genuine Lamborghini lovers along the way. That kind of amount definitely says something about how much people are ready to spend for genuine bespoke Lambo supercars, especially when they have little mileage and authentic, eye-catching style from the masterminds at Liberty Walk.
