England superfan Andy Milne is selling his house to fund his World Cup trip across the USA this summer.
The former teacher went viral during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar with images of him in an England shirt holding a replicatrophy securing his cult hero status.
The 62-year-old, who bears a resemblance to former Three Lions manager Steve McClaren, plans to attend his 10th World Cup this summer with England’s group games taking place in Dallas, Boston and New York in June.
Exorbitant ticket prices for the tournament have been widely criticised but Milne, perhaps rather optimistically, has already secured tickets for every game up to the final.
To finance the tour, Milne says he has put his second home in Northwich, Cheshire on the market for £350,000.
‘I definitely want to see the whole tournament,’ he told The Mirror. ‘I am going to the US on June 3 and will be there for seven weeks. So it will cost quite a lot of money.
‘It [his second home] is going on the market because I’m selling it to go to the World Cup. The last tournament in Qatar was a present to myself, I had been saving for years.

‘We have had a second home for 27 years so it felt like the right time to cash in’
He added: ‘I always try to do things cheaply if I can. I will couch surf where possible; I am lucky to have friends in Mexico, Dallas, and Vancouver.
‘Travel costs are expensive; I bought international flights early because you can change them even if departure times change by 10 minutes.’
England begin their World Cup campaign against Croatia in Dallas on 17 June before a meeting with Ghana six days later in Boston.
Thomas Tuchel’s side will hope to have qualification for the knockout stages wrapped up before their final group game against Panama in New Jersey.
