Minecraft fans can now plan their next 2027 family outing with confidence, as a brand-new section is set to open at Chessington World of Adventures Resort in Greater London. Next year, they’ll be able to celebrate the New Year in style when the new section, simply called Minecraft World, debuts, marking the first time the game has completely invested in a big theme park.

Merlin Entertainments collaborated with Mojang Studios to construct the new location, and they sought the services of a few well-known Minecraft stars to ensure that every element is accurate and authentic to the original game. Anyone in the know will tell you that it is supported by a large £50 million investment, making it one of the most significant upgrades to Chessington in recent years. The major attraction in this new land is a roller coaster unlike any we have ever seen before. The engineers who designed it chose an Intamin multi-dimensional model, which, together with some planning records, shows it’s an indoor ride straight out of the game. Riders will twist through scenarios inspired by the adventurous spirit that fans have come to know and love from their screens. There is no other coaster like this one yet, which is why people are already talking about it as the primary attraction.

In addition to the coaster, visitors can participate in interactive adventures around the venue. These essentially allow groups to get in and get involved in activities that resemble how individuals construct and explore on computers. Families can collaborate on projects, which is an excellent way to shift screen time into valuable time spent outdoors or in a covered location.

There are play areas made of blocks that encourage younger explorers to get their hands dirty and try climbing, stacking, and constructing in the physical world. The designs are inspired by the game’s familiar surroundings, so youngsters should feel right at home as they run around and come up with all sorts of ideas using their hands rather than a mouse.

The park is only 35 minutes by rail from London Waterloo, making day excursions a breeze. To clarify, Chessington already has some on-site hotels with themed rooms for different lands, and there are some hints that Minecraft touches may appear there as well, though nothing has been confirmed.
