Qwen Glasses AI MWC 2026
Alibaba’s Qwen Glasses took center stage at MWC 2026, and with good reason: these AI-powered spectacles felt like something you’d wear every day. Alibaba provides two versions: the Qwen S1, which has a super-subtle display integrated right into the lenses, and the Qwen G1, which lacks the fancy screen but has almost all of the same features.

The temples are a slim 8mm, so the frames never feel heavy or burdensome, and the curved nose pads and ear hooks do a great job of distributing the weight so you can wear them comfortably all day long. The titanium build also adds some serious durability without making them feel bulky. What’s really clever is the battery system, where each arm holds a small swappable pack (272mAh) that you can pop in and out whenever you need more power, no charger required.

Both models include a 12MP POV camera capable of recording 3K video, with a 109-degree ultra-wide field of view and HDR for some seriously impressive shots. With the IMX681 sensor and five-lens arrangement, it can handle almost anything, from bright sunlight to low-light settings. Audio is handled by bone conduction speakers in the arms, which are linked with a microphone array (five in all) to ensure that your voice comes over clearly even while recording in a noisy area.

Getting to know the Qwen Glasses means getting to know its AI. The AI is built on Alibaba’s Qwen models, and it is extremely fast and accurate when answering speech and image-based questions. Point the camera toward a famous landmark (such as Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia) and it will tell you everything about it, including some great added facts. Real-time translation is also fairly slick, as it displays what’s being spoken in another language on the S1 screen, with audio following shortly after.

The productivity features are also quite useful, such as the teleprompter, which scrolls your text for you, making it ideal for speeches or reading aloud. Meeting recordings are auto-summarized (quite useful for staying up to date), and the camera app can scan your surroundings and give you a short overview of what’s going on, which is a huge time saver in hectic settings or when you just need a reminder.

Other capabilities include music playback, voice memos, and hands-free functionality, and Alibaba has already announced intentions to integrate this with some of its other services, like as ride-hailing and restaurant ordering. It’s especially useful if you live in China. Controls are extremely simple to use; simply tap or slide on the right temple to traverse menus, or hit the button next to the camera to take a picture or video.

In terms of pricing, Alibaba is attempting to undercut Meta’s Ray-Ban at $275 for the G1, and the specifications are rather strong. The S1 (with screen) is slightly more expensive, roughly $500, but it provides a whole new level of feedback that basic audio cannot match. The global launch is scheduled for later this year, with some changes to overseas services to ensure it appeals to a broader range of customers (not just Alibaba’s domestic users).
