Apple iPhone 17e Reveal
Apple’s next entry-level iPhone has arrived, and it’s a welcome improvement that makes the $599 price tag feel like a true bargain. The iPhone 17e relies on the strong basis of its predecessor, but this time it addresses many of the issues that were left unresolved in the prior model.

Apple goes all out on this one, using the A19 chip, which is identical to the one found in the base iPhone 17. You get a 6 core CPU that can handle everyday chores with real zip, a 4 core GPU that can play console-level games and hardware-accelerated ray tracing, and a 16 core Neural Engine that keeps those fancy AI capabilities humming along; we’re talking about device processing and complex generative jobs. Better yet, it’s all linked with Apple’s own C1X cellular modem, which boosts cellular speeds by up to twice that of the iPhone 16e while using approximately 30% less power than last year’s pro versions. As a result, we’re talking about a long-lasting battery charge. We’re talking about 26 hours of video playback, depending on how you utilize it.

Storage starts at 256GB, which is double the starting point from last year, and the price remains $599, but if you need a little more, there’s a 512GB option that’s just a step up for those of you who shoot a lot of high-resolution photographs or 4K video. The best news is that there is no price increase, so you can use all of that extra capacity without worrying about running out of room for all of your apps, movies, and files.

The camera setup is centered around a 48MP fusion primary sensor, which provides sharp details, excellent low-light performance thanks to Night mode, and an optical quality 2x zoom that functions similarly to having two lenses built in. By default, images are 24MP, which is a good combination of quality and file space, but you can also obtain full 48MP detail. Portrait mode now takes the hard work for you, automatically detecting humans, dogs, and cats and allowing you to adjust focus and depth later. Skin tones become more realistic with HDR, while dazzling highlights and deep shadows are perfectly preserved. Video resolution is 4K Dolby Vision at 60 frames per second, with spatial audio recording, wind noise reduction, and all of the editing tools you’ll need to make your sound mix exactly right.

A 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display provides impressive visuals, with up to 1200 nits peak brightness for HDR movies during the day, no concerns. Ceramic Shield 2 is on the front, with three times higher scratch resistance than the previous version, as well as reduced glare thanks to a modified anti-reflective coating. The design is still rounded and comfy in the hand, and that lightweight aerospace grade aluminium is still tough enough to withstand the odd splash of water and dust.

iPhone 17e MagSafe
Following a brief absence in the previous iPhone generation, MagSafe returns, bringing with it an even more efficient wireless charging method. This time, it enables 15W wireless charging, which is twice as fast as the normal Qi on the iPhone 16e, and, as previously, it lines up flawlessly with chargers, stands, wallets, phone cases, and other accessories thanks to its magnetic mechanism. With wired charging via USB-C, it can recharge to 50 percent in approximately the same time it takes to watch a 30-minute TV show with a 20W or higher adapter put in.

The iPhone 17e will be available in three minimalist colors: black, white, and a soft pink, all with the same matte texture that prevents fingerprints from appearing. In terms of security, Face ID is still available for safe phone unlocking, and the Action button provides rapid access to features such as the flashlight and the ability to query Siri with a single tap. In case you find yourself without a cellular or Wi-Fi signal, the inbuilt satellite functions will still work to allow you to call for aid, receive roadside assistance, or send a message utilizing Emergency SOS, Find My, and texting.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 17e begin on March 4th, 2026, and it will be available in stores on the 11th, with the big release taking place in over 70 countries worldwide at that time. The starting price of $599 is reasonable considering the high-quality silicon, increased storage, faster charging times, and support for a large range of peripherals, all without breaking the bank. For anyone buying their first iPhone or wishing to upgrade from an older model, the iPhone 17e provides excellent value right away.
