iPhone 17e Delivers 256GB of Storage, MagSafe and Premium Performance for Just $599

Apple’s next entry-level iPhone has arrived, and it’s a welcome improvement that makes the $599 price tag feel like a true bargain. The iPhone 17e relies on the strong basis of its predecessor, but this time it addresses many of the issues that were left unresolved in the prior model.

Apple goes all out on this one, using the A19 chip, which is identical to the one found in the base iPhone 17. You get a 6 core CPU that can handle everyday chores with real zip, a 4 core GPU that can play console-level games and hardware-accelerated ray tracing, and a 16 core Neural Engine that keeps those fancy AI capabilities humming along; we’re talking about device processing and complex generative jobs. Better yet, it’s all linked with Apple’s own C1X cellular modem, which boosts cellular speeds by up to twice that of the iPhone 16e while using approximately 30% less power than last year’s pro versions. As a result, we’re talking about a long-lasting battery charge. We’re talking about 26 hours of video playback, depending on how you utilize it.

Storage starts at 256GB, which is double the starting point from last year, and the price remains $599, but if you need a little more, there’s a 512GB option that’s just a step up for those of you who shoot a lot of high-resolution photographs or 4K video. The best news is that there is no price increase, so you can use all of that extra capacity without worrying about running out of room for all of your apps, movies, and files.

The camera setup is centered around a 48MP fusion primary sensor, which provides sharp details, excellent low-light performance thanks to Night mode, and an optical quality 2x zoom that functions similarly to having two lenses built in. By default, images are 24MP, which is a good combination of quality and file space, but you can also obtain full 48MP detail.
