Stage Tour’s Ninety Songs and Official Hardware Lands December 10

RedOctane Games used Gamescom Opening Night Live to set Stage Tour for December 10 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Stand-alone copies cost $39.99. Hardware pre-orders opened the same day at stagetour.com. A Kramer wireless guitar plus the game sits at $129.99 during the pre-order window before climbing to $149.98. Two guitars with the game run $199.99. A full band kit that adds drums and a microphone costs $299.99, while the Pro version with extra cymbals reaches $349.99. Separate pieces include the Kramer guitar for $109.99, the four-pad drum kit for $199.99, and microphones starting at $19.99. CRKD also sells licensed Gibson-shaped controllers such as a Les Paul and an Explorer in the $120 range. Anyone who pre-orders the Kramer bundle from the official site gets a Dark Horse comic as a bonus.

More than ninety licensed songs spanning six decades ship at launch. Forty-five tracks have been named so far, with the rest still rolling out through weekly social reveals. Confirmed names include Mötley Crüe’s “Kickstart My Heart,” Metallica’s “Lux Æterna,” Radiohead’s “Just,” The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven,” The Rolling Stones’ recent single “In the Stars,” Paramore’s “For a Pessimist, I’m Pretty Optimistic,” Weezer’s “Island in the Sun,” Slipknot’s “Psychosocial,” Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Dani California,” Extreme’s “Get the Funk Out,” Ghost’s “Square Hammer,” Olivia Rodrigo, blink-182, Muse’s “Starlight,” Avril Lavigne, BABYMETAL, Fall Out Boy, Genesis, Def Leppard, ZZ Top, and Tenacious D covering “…Baby One More Time.” Digital pre-orders for the game itself open closer to launch; wishlists are live now.

Players can select their part as lead guitar, groove guitar or bass, drummer, or vocalist. Standard gamepads and keyboards are also supported, albeit with their own note charts rather than just a conversion of the guitar highway. If you prefer to play with a controller, you can pick between a four-lane or five-lane arcade layout. The game has several difficulty levels, ranging from Easy to Expert, as well as a special Expert Plus mode on the drums that becomes even more challenging when it comes to double-kick passages. Quickplay allows you to return to the classic highway modes or add some optional but interesting mods like notes that double up, patterns that get shuffled around, and 125% speed.

We also have a Practice mode where you can slow down difficult sections and eventually figure out how to master that one piece that was causing you problems. Judgment mode allows you to compete to see who can nail the timing windows somewhat tighter than everyone else. Then there’s Karaoke mode, which is ideal for a casual sing-along. Tour Mode is a brand new single-player campaign: it’s a roguelite setup in which you pick your bandmates, choose your gig paths, and then see where the road takes you, with the experience changing dramatically each time you play. You may also team up with three friends on the same console for local multiplayer, which allows you to mix and match all of the different instruments, or for online co-op and leaderboards with users from other platforms.

As you go through the game, you’ll have access to an incredible collection of gear, including over 180 actual in-game Gibsons, Epiphones, and Kramers, as well as a plethora of bandmates (over 50 to select from) and over 150 various looks and outfits. Now, in terms of hardware, the official kit includes low-latency wireless dongles, and the drum kit is modular, allowing you to add more cymbals and a second kick pedal to enhance your drumming experience. Please keep in mind that Switch users will not receive official drum hardware at this time, but those with Joy-Con or the Pro Controller will be able to play along with the drum kits. Additionally, there are plans to make modern third-party controllers such as CRKD guitars and Rock Band 4 instruments compatible with the game, as long as they work on the platforms they already support.
