Man Utd and Chelsea target Elliot Anderson speaks out on transfer links | Football
Elliot Anderson has been heavily linked with a big move away from Nottingham Forest this summer, but is not being drawn on his future.
The 23-year-old has been a huge hit at the City Ground since his 2024 move from Nottingham Forest.
The midfielder has been a fixture in the starting XI, making 42 appearances in all competitions last season and has already racked up 33 appearances this campaign.
His form for the Tricky Trees has seen him called up to the England squad and has now made six appearances for the Three Lions.
Thomas Tuchel has been thoroughly impressed and there appears to be every chance he will go to the World Cup as a starting midfielder alongside Declan Rice.
Unsurprisingly bigger clubs than Nottingham Forest have sat up and taken note, with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City all linked with summer moves for his signature.
Anderson is under contract with Forest until 2029, so the club is not under immediate pressure to sell him and he says he is not thinking about a move at this point.

‘I’m just focusing on my football at the moment and performing and trying to give everything for Nottingham Forest,’ he said.
‘That’s all that’s on my mind. It’s been a big two years. I think I’ve done pretty well, to be honest, in the time I’ve been here.
‘I’ve matured on and off the pitch. It’s thanks to the club for giving me that platform to go out there and play and let me do my stuff.’
Much will depend on whether Forest survive in the Premier League, with Vitor Pereira’s side in the heat of a relegation battle.
Forest are just one place and two points above West Ham in 18th, with their last minute defeat to Liverpool at the weekend a painful blow.
Pereira is not thinking about any future transfer business at this stage, praising both Anderson and Morgan Gibbs-White, who have both been linked with summer exits.
‘I’m not hearing this,’ Pereira said of possible moves. ‘Every day is work. I feel they are very committed to our target, which is the most important thing. He (Gibbs-White) is a top player, a captain, a top player with spirit.
‘Elliot is the same – a top player with spirit. That’s why I accepted the job, because I have very good players.
‘We need to prove – every day with our work and on the pitch – we don’t just have talent in the team but we can also create a strong team together.’
