Liverpool are in talks to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton ahead of Manchester United, according to reports.<\/p>\n

Palace are reportedly demanding an \u00a380 million fee for the 22-year-old, who was signed for an initial \u00a318m from Blackburn Rovers two years ago.<\/p>\n

The England international is not short of options with Manchester United and Chelsea both keen on a deal in the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n

However, Marca reports that Liverpool have stepped up their interest and are currently in \u2018advanced talks\u2019 to sign Wharton from Palace.<\/p>\n

The report adds that Liverpool are also in discussions to sign Marcos Senesi, whose contract with Bournemouth expires at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Tottenham have also made an approach to sign the Argentine centre-back on a free transfer at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Asked about his future at Palace this week, Wharton said: \u2018Obviously the praise is good and being linked with big clubs it\u2019s obviously a compliment in a way.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018As much praise as you get, there\u2019s also the other side of it where other people don\u2019t think you are doing very well or other clubs don\u2019t want you because they don\u2019t like this thing about you.<\/p>\n

\u2018I don\u2019t really pay attention to it. I know that I\u2019m doing well. The coach will tell me. To them, they\u2019re the ones who can have the biggest impact on me and help me develop my career. The outside ones, I don\u2019t really focus on it. I just try to focus on myself.\u2019<\/p>\n
