Paul Scholes watched Ronnie O\u2019Sullivan at the Crucible last week and was blown away by the experience, describing it as \u2018one of the best things I\u2019ve ever done.\u2019<\/p>\n
The Manchester United legend was in Sheffield to watch the Rocket in his World Snooker Championship first round match against He Guoqiang.<\/p>\n
He didn\u2019t actually get to see a lot of O\u2019Sullivan as it was the second session of the match and the 50-year-old reeled off the three frames he needed to complete a 10-2 win in less than an hour.<\/p>\n
However, it was more than enough to see Scholes fall in love with the place and wanted to stay for the entire tournament. <\/p>\n
\u2018I wanted to go and do it for years, go and watch Ronnie O\u2019Sullivan at the Crucible,\u2019 Scholes said on The Good, The Bad and The Football.<\/p>\n
\u2018I live an hour away so on my phone, had a look to see if I could buy a ticket \u2013 there was one ticket left in the whole thing and it\u2019s three seats away from Ronnie \u2013 I\u2019ve clicked on it, it was 450 quid, and I just thought \u201cF*** it. I\u2019m doing it\u201d. It\u2019s something that I\u2019ve always wanted to do.<\/p>\n

\u2018I don\u2019t really get excited about much stuff do I? But this was f***ing unbelievable! One of the best things I\u2019ve ever done.<\/p>\n
\u2018I had a coffee in the green room. All the TV people are there, Stephen Hendry, John Parrott, Joe Perry. Judd Trump and Neil Robertson were in there.<\/p>\n
\u2018I\u2019m three seats away from him [O\u2019Sullivan]. Honestly, peace and quiet, I could have sat in that chair for two weeks. I swear to God, I could have watched every single game.<\/p>\n
\u2018He only needed three frames to win. He did it in about 45 minutes, got two centuries \u2013 absolute genius. It\u2019s one of the best things I\u2019ve ever done in my life, honestly.\u2019<\/p>\n\n

The 51-year-old is not known for losing his cool, but felt like he was getting carried away, such was the buzz of watching the Rocket in action.<\/p>\n
\u2018The precision of it, it\u2019s like art. They make it look easy. At one point I got a bit giddy,\u2019 he said. I was on a high for about three days after it. <\/p>\n
\u2018I\u2019m still talking about it now, it\u2019s one of the best things I\u2019ve done in my life. Watching a genius at work like that, it\u2019s unbelievable.\u2019<\/p>\n
O\u2019Sullivan was asked if he knew Scholes was in attendance after the match, saying: \u2018It was good to see him. <\/p>\n
\u2018He looks really well, fit, healthy, so good to see him come to the snooker.\u2019<\/p>\n\n

After a thrilling 13-12 defeat to John Higgins in the second round, O\u2019Sullivan said of his plans for next season: \u2018It depends, if my sponsors are on board then I\u2019ll play, but i\u2019m not two-feet in like pretty much most of the guys, I\u2019m just grateful to be playing, and enjoying my playing and that\u2019s it. <\/p>\n
\u2018And if I don\u2019t enjoy it, I\u2019ll take time out. We\u2019ll see. It\u2019s too hard to start speculating about next year.\u2019<\/p>\n
He added: \u2018I\u2019m just enjoying myself I\u2019m having good fun, I\u2019m just enjoying life and whatever I\u2019m doing, so win, lose, draw, there\u2019s always a safety net below. <\/p>\n
\u2018I\u2019m not two feet in. I try my nuts off when I\u2019m out there, but I also appreciate that I\u2019m not a slave to the game. I have to take a result like that, and I can probably handle that a lot better than if I\u2019m all two feet in, that would really hurt to lose a game, but I feel like I\u2019ve had a good workout, I\u2019ve had a good game and I\u2019ve kind of surprised myself, and I can still play a bit.\u2019<\/p>\n
