{"id":7054,"date":"2026-04-17T04:10:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T04:10:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news678.top\/?p=7054"},"modified":"2026-04-17T04:10:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T04:10:13","slug":"look-no-further-sam-allardyce-urges-man-utd-to-sign-30m-striker-football","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news678.top\/?p=7054","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Look no further!&#8217; &#8211; Sam Allardyce urges Man Utd to sign \u00a330m striker | Football"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\" width=\"646\" height=\"418\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/GettyImages-2169732439.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=646\" class=\"article-image wp-image-27999529\" alt=\"FIFAe World Cup featuring Football Manager - Day 4\" decoding=\"sync\"\/>\t<\/div><figcaption>Former Premier League Sam Allardyce (Picture: Getty)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Sam Allardyce has urged Manchester United to sign a Premier League striker in the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n<p>Much of the focus around United\u2019s transfer plans for the summer is around the acquisition of a new midfielder.<\/p>\n<p>Manchester United were already planning to sign a new central midfielder before Casemiro announced in January that he was leaving at the end of the season.<\/p>\n<p>The Red Devils, back in the Champions League places under caretaker boss Michael Carrick, are now planning to sign two midfielders.<\/p>\n<p>Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba have been heavily linked with moves to Old Trafford, with the Nottingham Forest star believed to be United\u2019s first-choice target.<\/p>\n<p>Midfield is not the only area Manchester United could look at, however, with several pundits of the opinion that strengthening is also needed in the attacking and full-back positions.<\/p>\n<p>Arsenal\u2019s Myles Lewis-Skelly and Newcastle United\u2019s Lewis Hall have emerged as full-backs targets for United, while Allardyce has recommended Old Trafford bosses sign striker Igor Thiago.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"594\" height=\"396\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/GettyImages-2271181797.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=594\" class=\"article-image wp-image-28000005\" alt=\"Manchester United v Leeds United - Premier League\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>\t<\/div><figcaption>Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe (Picture: Getty)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Thiago has been a revelation at Brentford since his \u00a330m move from Club Brugge, scoring 24 goals in all competitions this season.<\/p>\n<p>With 21 goals in the Premier League alone, only Manchester City\u2019s Erling Haaland has registered more league goals than Thiago with 22.<\/p>\n<p>Thiago\u2019s form has not gone unnoticed with rival clubs and ex-Premier League manager Allardyce believes Manchester United should target the Brazilian.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"594\" height=\"396\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/GettyImages-2270299676.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all&amp;w=594\" class=\"article-image wp-image-28000018\" alt=\"Brentford v Everton - Premier League\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>\t<\/div><figcaption>In-form Brentford striker Igor Thiago (Picture: Getty)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, Allardyce said: \u2018I mean, who\u2019s going to buy Brentford\u2019s centre-forward, Igor Thiago?<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Manchester United need to look no further as far as I\u2019m concerned.
