Kai Havertz believes David Raya is \u2018underestimated in world football\u2019 after his impressive performance in Arsenal\u2019s 1-0 win over Sporting CP in the Champions League.<\/p>\n

Havertz\u2019s goal in injury time sealed a last-gasp victory for Mikel Arteta\u2019s side in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie against Sporting on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

But the Gunners were heavily reliant on another brilliant performance from Raya as the Spaniard pulled off a series of excellent saves to help keep a clean sheet.<\/p>\n

Raya was named UEFA\u2019s Player of the Match for his display and Havertz feels the Arsenal goalkeeper showed why he should be regarded as the best in world football.<\/p>\n

When asked about Raya\u2019s performance, Havertz told Prime Video: \u2018It\u2019s unbelievable.<\/p>\n

\u2018I think still underestimated in the world of football but, for me, the last two seasons, the best keeper in the world.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s outstanding, he\u2019s saved us so many times and we\u2019re very glad to have him.\u2019<\/p>\n

Arteta, meanwhile, reiterated that Arsenal are \u2018very lucky\u2019 to have Raya as their goalkeeper.<\/p>\n

\u2018He had two moments where he made two big saves. And that\u2019s the Champions League, the Champions League is always decided in the boxes and because there\u2019s so much quality here,\u2019 Arteta said.<\/p>\n

\u2018At the moment he\u2019s phenomenal and extraordinary since he joined us. We are very lucky to have him.\u2019<\/p>\n

In his post-match press conference, Arteta added: \u2018He\u2019s extraordinary, magnificent, incredible, I don\u2019t know the right adjective.<\/p>\n

\u2018With that it\u2019s enough. We are so happy to have him.\u2019<\/p>\n
