Gareth Bale has recommended \u2018genius manager\u2019 Carlo Ancelotti to Manchester United as they prepare to appoint Ruben Amorim\u2019s permanent replacement.<\/p>\n

United sacked Amorim in early January after a disappointing 14-month tenure at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

Michael Carrick was soon appointed as United\u2019s caretaker manager until the end of the season and has enjoyed a fantastic start to his reign, winning seven of his first ten games in charge.<\/p>\n

Carrick\u2019s return to his former club was only expected to be temporary but United\u2019s impressive form has led to calls for him to get the job on a permanent basis.<\/p>\n

England boss Thomas Tuchel was one of the frontunners to take over when Amorim was sacked but the ex-Chelsea boss has since signed a contract extension with the Three Lions.<\/p>\n

Another manager preparing for this summer\u2019s World Cup, Ancelotti, has also been linked with the Red Devils and Bale believes his former Real Madrid boss would do \u2018great\u2019 at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

Ancelotti, 66, is regarded as one of the best managers in history, having won a record five Champions Leagues and league titles in Spain, England, Italy, France and Germany.<\/p>\n

\u2018I think he would do great,\u2019 Bale said on The Overlap when asked about Ancelotti\u2019s credentials as a Manchester United manager. \u2018He\u2019s not just the\u00a0manager,\u00a0he is a coach as well.<\/p>\n

\u2018[But] he can do the tactical stuff. When he was the head coach in his second spell [at Real Madrid], he did a lot more tactically then than we did the first time, but I think we had a better team the first time.<\/p>\n

\u2018Wherever Carlo goes, I think he would do an amazing job, just because he gets everyone on board.<\/p>\n

\u2018If you go into a big club, you\u2019ve got good players, whether they\u2019re performing at the time or not.<\/p>\n

\u2018Like Man United, they have been the last few weeks, but, prior to that, they hadn\u2019t been performing, but they\u2019ve got good players.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019ll get the best out of players and will just simplify things, which you see now with Michael Carrick.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s simplifying a lot of things that the\u00a0previous\u00a0manager was doing, and\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0getting results. So that\u2019s Carlo\u2019s genius, getting the best out of the players and just making it simple.\u2019<\/p>\n

Bale is not the first footballer-turned-pundit to recommend Ancelotti for the Manchester United job, with Paul Scholes claiming he would be \u2018perfect\u2019 for the role.<\/p>\n

\u2018Michael [Carrick] is doing great,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0unbelievable\u00a0the change,\u2019 Scholes said on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast.<\/p>\n

\u2018If you put yourself in the owner\u2019s shoes or whoever is making the decision,\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0putting real pressure on them to get the job.<\/p>\n

\u2018The people making that decision might have to think about it a little bit differently because I\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0think you need the most technical or talented coach.<\/p>\n

\u2018You\u2019re\u00a0at a big club with\u00a0good players\u00a0who know what\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0doing,\u00a0maybe they\u00a0need a man-manager more than anything.<\/p>\n

\u2018If you look back\u00a0to\u00a0Sir\u00a0Alex\u00a0[Ferguson] he was never a coach\u00a0really\u00a0but he knew the players, he knew what the players needed and how to treat players to get the best out of them.<\/p>\n

\u2018If you look at Real Madrid with Carlo Ancelotti, Zinedine Zidane, I\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0think\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0the most technical or tactical coaches but\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0good man-managers.<\/p>\n

\u2018Ruben Amorim seemed obsessed with\u00a0tactics\u00a0and it\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0work, Xabi Alonso seemed the same at Real Madrid. Do\u00a0those type of big clubs\u00a0need those coaches or a more man-manager?<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0know what Michael\u2019s coaching style is\u00a0like\u00a0but I can imagine as a man-manager\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0very good\u00a0because\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0brilliant with people and players.<\/p>\n

\u2018The question over Michael is does he have the experience? I know\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0managed in the\u00a0Championship\u00a0but this is obviously different.<\/p>\n

\u2018Can we see Carrick winning United the Premier League? Look, we\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0know yet.<\/p>\n

\u2018Now the perfect one out there\u2026 Ancelotti is still out there, I know\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0with Brazil, but\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0that perfect one for Manchester United\u00a0where you think he would make players feel a million dollars and\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0got the experience of winning trophies.<\/p>\n
