Former England boss Fabio Capello has given a brutal assessment of Liam Rosenior \u2013 insisting the Chelsea head coach is \u2018out of his mind\u2019 with his players \u2018laughing\u2019 at his methods.<\/p>\n

Rosenior took the reins at Stamford Bridge in January after the departure of Enzo Maresca. Up until last week, Chelsea\u2019s only defeats in that time have come against Arsenal in the Premier League and Carabao Cup.<\/p>\n

The last seven days have been hugely damaging for the Blues boss however, capitulating away to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League round of 16 last week.<\/p>\n

After a meek defeat at home to Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday, the French champions finished the job in brutal fashion last night, progressing to the quarter-finals thanks to an 8-2 aggregate victory in west London.<\/p>\n

With just minutes of last night\u2019s second leg remaining, Rosenior was spotted furiously scribbling notes and handing them to Alejandro Garnacho to pass onto his teammates.<\/p>\n

Former England boss and Italian football legend Capello was one of the many left watching on in utter bemusement.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s out of his mind,\u2019 said Capello, Football Italia report.<\/p>\n

\u2018He did something that will make the players laugh. That\u2019s what they think. You saw his [Garnacho\u2019s] face when he entered the pitch with that note; he was like: \u201cWhat are you saying to me?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018When you do smart things, you are involved, but when you do something like that, how are you involving somebody?\u2019<\/p>\n

AC Milan legend Alessandro Costacurta also put the boot in, convinced Garnacho was left questioning his manager after the peculiar incident late on in the game.<\/p>\n

\u2018I was a player, and if something like that had happened to me, I wouldn\u2019t have seen it as a way to get the players on my side. It\u2019s possible that there\u2019s a new trend, but you can see the attitude from Garnacho\u2019s face,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n

Also on punditry duty, West Ham legend and former Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio believed the incident summed up a new generation of coaches who \u2018who to show they study until the end\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018Look at the way he entered the field. I was also a bit of a prude, but these new coaches are almost philosophers now,\u2019 Di Canio said.<\/p>\n

\u2018It seems like a joke, but it\u2019s not. They strongly believe that even the attitude in the final minutes is important.<\/p>\n

\u2018They believe in it. I see many who do the same thing despite losing 3-0. They want to show they study until the end; it\u2019s the new generation. I understand it, but I\u2019m like: \u201cWhat are you doing?\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n
