Matheus Cunha has been begging Casemiro to stay at Manchester United for at least one more season.<\/p>\n

The Brazil international has enjoyed a superb 2025-26 campaign in the heart of United\u2019s midfield but announced in January this season would be his last in Manchester.<\/p>\n

The \u00a370million signing from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022 will leave the club when his contract expires this summer with finding a replacement for the 34-year-old a top priority.<\/p>\n

Casemiro scored his seventh goal of the season in Sunday\u2019s 3-1 victory over Aston Villa with fans at Old Trafford chanting \u2018one more year\u2019 after he opened the scoring with another header.<\/p>\n

While there is unlikely to be any U-turn from United on the midfielder\u2019s future, the United squad are keen him to stay on.<\/p>\n

Cunha joined his countryman in Manchester last summer after his transfer from Wolves. The forward has been beginning Casemiro to extend his stay in Manchester beyond this summer and still believes there is time for a change of heart.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m always asking him, \u201ccome on, stay at Manchester United!\u201d Just one year with me, let\u2019s go for a second year,\u2019 he told TNT Sports Brasil.<\/p>\n

\u2018We\u2019re very close, he\u2019s always helping and it\u2019s incredibly rewarding to play with him here and with the national team.<\/p>\n

\u2018l always learn from him and understand more and more how he won so many titles. He\u2019s reached a stage where he can decide where to play, and I hope it is with us.\u2019<\/p>\n

United do retain an option to extend Casemiro\u2019s contract by a further 12 months.<\/p>\n

With Cunha in his countryman\u2019s ear, Leny Yoro has also revealed the entire dressing room wants the former Real Madrid star to stay.<\/p>\n

\u2018Everyone wanted him to stay, he\u2019s a player [who is] really important for us,\u2019 Yoro said.<\/p>\n

\u2018Even in the dressing room, every day, he has the experience that no one else has in the team.<\/p>\n

\u2018He won everything, so this helped us a lot in the games and even outside the pitch.\u2019<\/p>\n
