Jamie Carragher took aim at Guglielmo Vicario after Dominik Szoboszlai opened the scoring in Tottenham\u2019s 1-1 draw with Liverpool, insisting the goalkeeper is simply \u2018not good enough\u2019 for the club.<\/p>\n

Vicario was restored to Igor Tudor\u2019s starting XI having come on as a substitute after Antonin Kinsky\u2019s horror-show performance in Spurs\u2019 heavy midweek defeat to Atletico Madrid.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old had a point to prove and will have been eager to send out a signal of intent in another all-important match for the relegation-threatened visitors at Anfield.<\/p>\n

But Szoboszlai made the breakthrough for hosts Liverpool in the 18th minute on Merseyside and Vicario could \u2013 and perhaps should \u2013 have done more to keep out the Hungarian\u2019s 30-yard free-kick.<\/p>\n

On first viewing, it looked as if Vicario could be forgiven for his role in Liverpool\u2019s breakthrough goal given the pace and power Szoboszlai put into the strike, but replays confirmed that the shot-stopper got a firm glove to the ball.<\/p>\n

It means Vicario has now conceded 11 goals from outside the box in the Premier League alone this season. Later on in the contest, though, the Italian produced a top save to deny Cody Gakpo before Richarlison equalised late on to seal Spurs their first point under Tudor.<\/p>\n

\u2018We don\u2019t see enough direct free-kicks scored in the Premier League these days but there\u2019s absolutely no doubt that Liverpool have a free-kick specialist,\u2019 ex-Liverpool and England defender Carragher said on Sky Sports\u2019 commentary of Szoboszlai\u2019s free-kick.<\/p>\n

\u2018He is a specialist but I tell you what, Tottenham don\u2019t have a goalkeeping specialist. <\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s not far off the middle of the goal, you\u2019ve got to save that. Wow, that\u2019s awful, absolutely shocking from the goalkeeper.<\/p>\n

\u2018Liverpool find themselves one goal in front thanks to their best player by a million miles this season.\u2019<\/p>\n

According to Carragher, Tottenham\u2019s \u2018huge problems\u2019 between the sticks will need fixing when the transfer window opens for business this summer.<\/p>\n

\u2018The reason the other fella\u2019 [Kinsky] played in midweek was because he [Vicario] is not good enough,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n

\u2018That\u2019s what it was and then he ends up coming on in the game and it\u2019s been well documented what happened.<\/p>\n

\u2018But Tottenham have got huge problems in goal.\u2019<\/p>\n

After Richarlison\u2019s dramatic late equaliser, a frustrated Carragher criticised both Andy Robertson and Virgil van Dijk for their failure to deal with Vicario\u2019s searching ball out from the back in the build-up.<\/p>\n

\u2018Andy Robertson doesn\u2019t challenge, it\u2019s a long and hopeful ball,\u2019 he explained.<\/p>\n

\u2018He doesn\u2019t jump, he gets in between and I\u2019m not sure where Virgil van Dijk is going\u2026 he doesn\u2019t react quickly enough and then Liverpool are all over the place.<\/p>\n

\u2018But I can\u2019t say that Tottenham don\u2019t deserve it. Van Dijk is furious but this has been coming.<\/p>\n

\u2018It was so obvious and you can\u2019t say they don\u2019t deserve it.\u2019<\/p>\n
