Bukayo Saka\u2019s form is under the spotlight after he underwhelmed in Arsenal\u2019s crucial Premier League win over Everton.<\/p>\n

The Gunners looked set to drop two points at home to Everton as Saturday\u2019s game remained goalless heading into the final few minutes.<\/p>\n

But teenage sensation Max Dowman made a huge impact from the bench, first playing a role in Viktor Gyokeres\u2019 opener and then sealing the three points with an injury-time goal, making him the youngest Premier League goalscorer in history.<\/p>\n

The late win sent Arsenal ten points clear of title rivals Manchester City and Pep Guardiola\u2019s side were only able to draw 1-1 at West Ham later in the day.<\/p>\n

Saka has been surprisingly quiet for Arsenal in recent months, scoring just two goals since early December, and was upstaged by 16-year-old Dowman against Everton.<\/p>\n

The England star was subbed off during Arsenal\u2019s Champions League knockout game against Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

Liverpool legend Steve Nicol is alarmed by Saka\u2019s frustrating spell, insisting he is \u2018absolutely struggling\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018Arsenal\u2019s front-three today\u2026 I mean again Bukayo Saka is struggling,\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0absolutely struggling for form,\u2019 he said on ESPN.<\/p>\n

Fellow forward Liverpool star Don Hutchison, meanwhile, has \u2018wondered\u2019 if Saka is \u2018shattered\u2019 given the volume of football he has played at his young age or has been \u2018over-coached\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018Mikel Arteta said he had a gut feeling about Max Dowman and\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0basically saying\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0coached the life out of Bukayo Saka and Noni\u00a0Madueke\u00a0and this kid\u00a0hasn\u2019t\u00a0had any coaching\u00a0yet\u00a0so he just went out there and played,\u2019 Hutchinson said.<\/p>\n

\u2018Just on Bukayo Saka,\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0been out of form and this kid at 24 has played over 300 games.<\/p>\n

\u2018So you just start to wonder, with a few injuries along the way, is he feeling a little bit shattered or is it over-coaching because\u00a0Max Dowman came on and just lit up the place, he was magnificent.\u2019<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Arteta beamed about the \u2018amazing\u2019 finish to Arsenal\u2019s win over Everton and praised Dowman for his incredible impact.<\/p>\n

\u2018It was amazing, it was one of those moments that I think we\u2019re going to remember for a long, long time,\u2019 Arteta said.<\/p>\n

\u2018I really enjoyed the relentless desire of the team, action by action, to put everything that we had in to earn the right to win the game.<\/p>\n

\u2018And obviously, the manner in which it happened in the last few minutes, all the celebration, the atmosphere, the energy, the goal from Max, it made it such a special night.<\/p>\n

\u2018For many years, we will remember that we were at the Emirates that night when that 16-year-old kid scored in such an important game when we were trying to win the title.<\/p>\n

\u2018To achieve what he\u2019s done in the context of the game which he\u2019s done it in as well, I think it makes it even more special.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m really happy for him. I think he deserves it. His family, and all the people at Hale End have raised him in such an incredible way.<\/p>\n

\u2018One thing is to raise a talent, another thing is to raise a person with such a personality and charisma to play a game with that stature in the manner that he\u2019s done it.\u2019<\/p>\n
