The 2026 Cheltenham Festival comes to its conclusion on Friday as Inothewayurthinkin bids to defend the Gold Cup.<\/p>\n

The Gavin Cromwell-trained horse upset the odds last year to deny Galopin Des Champs a historic third successive Gold Cup triumph, but is not well-fancied to defend his title after a poor season to date.<\/p>\n

And with Galopin Des Champs not racing, it is The Jukebox Man, owned by Harry Redknapp, who will likely be the favourite come 4pm on Friday.<\/p>\n

The Gaelic Warrior is also expected to be in contention after a second-place finish in the Irish Gold Cup, while Haiti Couleurs will also command respect from the bookmakers.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, several other races, including the Triumph Hurdle\u00a0and Mares\u2019 Chase, should provide plenty of drama in the build-up to Friday\u2019s main event.<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0Paddy Power, racing legend Ruby Walsh has named his biggest tips for the final day of action.<\/p>\n

1.20 \u2013 JCB Triumph Hurdle<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m a fan of PROACTIF<\/strong>, who seems to have improved markedly since his win at Fairyhouse on his Irish debut. The same could be said for Macho Man, who followed him home that day, but Proactif should be good enough to give JP McManus another winner.<\/p>\n

2.00 \u2013 William Hill County Handicap Hurdle<\/strong><\/p>\n

He might not be a \u2019State Man\u2019, but KARBAU <\/strong>ran really well behind Glen Kiln in the Limestone Lad Hurdle. The forecast rain will suit him more than his stablemate Murcia, and that may have swayed Paul Townend\u2019s decision to make him his only handicap ride of the week. He\u2019s got a really good chance.<\/p>\n

2.40 \u2013 Mrs Paddy Power Mares\u2019 Chase<\/strong><\/p>\n

DINOBLUE <\/strong>looks rock solid for my money. She was excellent when winning this race last year, and has had an ideal preparation to defend her crown. I can\u2019t see beyond her!<\/p>\n

3.20 \u2013 Albert Novices\u2019 Hurdle<\/strong><\/p>\n

Doctor Steinberg has obvious claims, but this is a race that can throw up some big-priced winners. I\u2019m siding with ESPRESSO MILAN<\/strong>, who should really enjoy this step up in trip with a strong gallop. He\u2019s the value selection.<\/p>\n

4.00 \u2013 Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase<\/strong><\/p>\n

GAELIC WARRIOR<\/strong> bids to give connections a Champion Hurdle \u2013 Gold Cup double, and I\u2019m with him. Any rain will be an advantage to him, and the race set-up should be ideal with plenty of pace on. I can see him being dropped in towards the inner, powering through on the run to the last, and the rest, as they say, is history!<\/p>\n

4.40 \u2013 St James\u2019 Place Festival Hunters Chase<\/strong><\/p>\n

I fancy PANDA BOY<\/strong>, who was a solid handicap chaser for Martin Brassil. He qualified with wins in this discipline at Thurles and Naas. You need to be a strong stayer to win the Hunters\u2019 Chase, and he ticks that box. He\u2019s the most likely winner with John Gleeson on board.<\/p>\n

5.20 \u2013 Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys\u2019 Handicap Hurdle<\/strong><\/p>\n

KEL HISTOIRE<\/strong> and Jump Allen both have solid chances, and I\u2019ve just come down on the former. His overall form is stronger, and he\u2019s got an eye-catching jockey booked in Michael Kenneally. He can deliver the goods in the lucky last.<\/p>\n
