Jamie Carragher claims Chelsea did not deserve their 5-2 defeat to PSG (CBS Sports)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Jamie Carragher believes Chelsea will not win another Premier League or Champions League until they sign a new goalkeeper after their 5-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.<\/p>\n

In a thrilling game at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night, Chelsea pulled back PSG on two occasions before the Champions League holders scored three late goals to give Liam Rosenior\u2019s side a mountain to climb in the return leg at Stamford Bridge next Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Filip Jorgensen started in goal ahead of Robert Sanchez but the 23-year-old was at fault for PSG\u2019s third as his pass was intercepted before Vitinha produced an excellent lob to put Luis Enrique\u2019s side in front.<\/p>\n

Speaking after Chelsea\u2019s 5-2 defeat to PSG, Carragher praised Rosenior for his tactical approach but believes his side will be unable to challenge for silverware until a new goalkeeper is brought to Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

\u2018It was a brilliant game, I think the best game certainly I\u2019ve seen in the Champions League this season,\u2019 Carragher told CBS Sports.<\/p>\n

\u2018Chelsea didn\u2019t deserve to lose 5-2 but they\u2019ve only got themselves to blame for that.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019ve been critical of Chelsea for a long time, but I\u2019m being deadly serious, they can\u2019t go any further until they sort the goalkeeping issue out. I\u2019ve been saying this consistently.<\/p>\n

\u2018The new ownership have come in and spent absolute billions and right now they\u2019ve got some great players in the team and I think in these early stages Liam Rosenior has been brilliant, I thought Rosenior as a manager tonight, looking at how he set the team up, caused PSG real problems, they didn\u2019t deserve to lose as in the way the game was set up and how they played.<\/p>\n

\u2018But big mistakes cost them at centre-back and goalkeeper and that has been an issue and will continue to be an issue for any Chelsea manager going forward when they\u2019re trying to win the Premier League and Champions League because they\u2019re a million miles off it.<\/p>\n

\u2018That\u2019s why they lost tonight, not because they haven\u2019t got great attacking players or the manager knows what he\u2019s doing, tactically they were fantastic tonight. They were let down by a mistake from the goalkeeper at 2-2 and then the game just completely unravelled and now all of a sudden it looks like they\u2019ve got no chance of going through.\u2019<\/p>\n
