Mikel Arteta has hit back at Fabian Hurzeler\u2019s complaints about Arsenal\u2019s \u2018time wasting\u2019 after Brighton\u2019s 1-0 defeat to the Gunners on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n
Bukayo Saka\u2019s goal sealed Arsenal\u2019s 1-0 win over Brighton to put Arteta\u2019s side seven points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Nottingham Forest.<\/p>\n
Speaking after Brighton\u2019s defeat, Hurzeler accused David Raya of feigning injury and criticised Arsenal for their style of play.<\/p>\n
\u2018I think there was only one team who tried to play football today,\u2019 Hurzeler said.<\/p>\n
\u2018If I asked everyone in this room did they enjoy this football game, I\u2019m sure maybe one raises his arm because he\u2019s a big Arsenal fan, besides that, no chance.<\/p>\n
\u2018In the end we have to make the limits or the Premier League has to make the limits. Where will this go in the future? One game we played 60 minutes net time [ball in play], then when you play against Arsenal it\u2019s only 50 minutes, that\u2019s ten minutes difference. This is what the supporters are paying for, you get my point.<\/p>\n\n

\u2018I won\u2019t complain about the referee because it\u2019s really difficult for him, do you want to send off the goalkeeper for two yellow cards for wasting time? This will never happen so what should he do? That\u2019s the thing, that\u2019s why you need rules, limits.\u2019<\/p>\n
When asked about Hurzeler\u2019s comments, Arteta replied: \u2018What a surprise.\u2019<\/p>\n
Asked if he wanted to elaborate on his response, Arteta said: \u2018No. You just go back to the previous games and you\u2019ll find a lot of comments like this always.<\/p>\n
\u2018I love my players. That\u2019s the highlight. I love my players, we love our players and I love the way we compete.\u2019<\/p>\n
Asked if he cares what another manager says about him, Arteta replied: \u2018Care? Yeah. Depends\u2026 and the comments, and the purpose of that.\u2019<\/p>\n
When Arteta was told that Hurzeler said that only one team tried to play football, the Arsenal manager replied: \u2018Next question.\u2019<\/p>\n
