A rider sat on the saddle, hands firmly clutching the handlebars, and the whole thing was propelled forward, albeit with all the subtlety of a toddler beginning to walk, in purposeful but shaky steps. That beast is the Qiji X1, and people are already able to buy one (or two).

DaxAI Robotics made its debut in Beijing sometime around May 2025. Wang Kun, the guy behind it all, has been experimenting with robotics and self-driving cars for over a decade, beginning when he worked at JD.com. He and his co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Xu Wenqiang, form an exceptional team. Xu attended the University of Science and Technology of China’s talented program before pursuing an advanced degree in artificial intelligence. Their youthful team decided to go all out and construct the Qiji X1 as a proof-of-concept for a four-legged ‘ride’, which is effectively a four-legged horse that can be mounted.

Unitree Go2 Robot Dog Quadruped Robotics for Adults Embodied AI (Go2 Air)

【Next-Generation Robotic Companion: Meet the Unitree Go2 Robotic Dog】 The Unitree Go2 Air is an intelligent quadruped robot, perfect for beginners…

【Intelligent Navigation with 3D LiDAR & Obstacle Avoidance】 Featuring ultra-wide 3D LiDAR with 360°x96° perception, the Go2 Air detects…

【High-Definition Vision & Seamless App Integration】 A front HD camera streams 1280×720 video to the app. Control the robot, view real-time data…

The beast weights around 300 kg (661 lbs) on its own, but it is built to withstand an additional 300 kg of tension. So you can put a couple of average-sized persons on it and it won’t become overloaded. Legs are driven by electric motors, and you may expect roughly 40 km of range on a single charge, with a top speed of about 10 km/h. It’s not the quickest thing in the world, but that wasn’t the idea. The Qiji X1 is designed to be effective in environments where wheels would struggle, such as steep hills, loose gravel, and soft mud. The business advertises it as an all-terrain intelligent mount, essentially a horse for short rides through forests, grasslands, or your own private estate.

The controls are uncomplicated, similar to riding a motorcycle. The handlebars steer, while the onboard computer (the DaxBrain-WM for techies) constantly determines where to place the next footstep. They’ve also ensured that the program can run on its own, eliminating the need for a large, central computer to connect to. It can walk, move sideways, reverse, and do little spinning rotations on the spot. Videos show the machine’s head bobbing up and down as it moves, giving it an animal-like appearance but a jerky feel on hard floors.

They didn’t stop at the X1, though; the Qiji XS goes it a step further by allowing the wheels to drop down for extra speed when cruising on smooth ground, but can be raised up when things get tough and the legs take over. The top speed is around 40 kph, and the range is about 100 kilometers. Pricing is comparable to the X1, with estimates indicating that the pure-legged X1 will cost around 289,000 yuan (approximately $43,000), while the wheel-legged XS is slightly more expensive. Dax believes they will be able to begin small batch deliveries soon, with full-scale manufacture arriving later this year.

They also demonstrated a beast of a machine, the T1000, which is built for heavy lifting tasks such as search and rescue or transporting large items over tough terrain. Let’s be honest, the rideable consumer version has everyone buzzing. Is it a practical tool for off-grid adventures, a luxurious toy for private landowners, or anything in between? Time will tell, but for now, it exists, people are sitting on it, and Dax is taking orders.

You Can Climb On Qiji X1 from DaxAI Robotics and Ride It Across a Conference Floor

#Climb #Qiji #DaxAI #Robotics #Ride #Conference #Floor

[8
7659,1530,13199,6040,13198,3581,2339
post-20471","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-tech","tag-climb","tag-conference","tag-daxai","tag-floor","tag-qiji","tag-ride","tag-robotics
https://news678.top/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/qiji-x1-daxai-robotics-robot-horse.jpg",1280,853,false
https://news678.top/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/qiji-x1-daxai-robotics-robot-horse-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://news678.top/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/qiji-x1-daxai-robotics-robot-horse-300x200.jpg",300,200,true
https://news678.top/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/qiji-x1-daxai-robotics-robot-horse-768x512.jpg",640,427,true
https://news678.top/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/qiji-x1-daxai-robotics-robot-horse-1024x682.jpg",640,426,true],"1536x1536":["https://news678.top/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/qiji-x1-daxai-robotics-robot-horse.jpg",1280,853,false],"2048x2048":["https://news678.top/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/qiji-x1-daxai-robotics-robot-horse.jpg",1280,853,false
https://news678.top/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/qiji-x1-daxai-robotics-robot-horse-1024x682.jpg",1024,682,true
https://news678.top/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/qiji-x1-daxai-robotics-robot-horse-540x340.jpg",540,340,true
["GET
