Gary Neville has hailed Manchester United\u2019s \u2018complete transformation\u2019 under Michael Carrick and backed Benjamin Sesko to be a \u2018game-changing\u2019 signing for the his former club.<\/p>\n

United\u2019s sensational form under caretaker boss Michael Carrick continued on Sunday as the Red Devils beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

Palace led early through Maxence Lacroix but the defended received a straight red card for denying Matheus Cunha a goalscoring opportunity just after half-time in which proved to be the defining moment in the game.<\/p>\n

Bruno Fernandes converted the resulting penalty against ex-United goalkeeper Dean Henderson and Sesko headed the hosts in front soon after.<\/p>\n

Sesko\u2019s seventh goal in his last eight games proved to be enough to earn Manchester United the three points and send Carrick\u2019s side up to third in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

United were outside of the Champions League places at the time of Ruben Amorim\u2019s sacking but it is not just results that have improved but also performances, with Neville describing the turnaround as a \u2018complete transformation\u2019.<\/p>\n

Neville says \u00a374m summer signing Sesko has been integral to United\u2019s improved form and says he can be a \u2018game-changer\u2019 for the club by solving their striker issues.<\/p>\n

\u2018I have to say the goal from Benjamin Sesko is an absolute beauty,\u2019 Neville said on his Sky Sports podcast. \u2018It\u2019s\u00a0a brilliant\u00a0header,\u00a0a proper header.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s\u00a0got confidence now and he got a start today which had to happen after his recent form.\u00a0The confidence, the goals, the finishes\u2026\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0some brilliant goals\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0scoring by the way.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s\u00a0definitely improved\u00a0enormously. Michael Carrick never picked him in the\u00a0team, he\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0pick him in the team until\u00a0today\u00a0so\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0obviously had doubts\u00a0about him in terms of not being right or not being quite there.<\/p>\n

\u2018[Bryan] Mbeumo\u00a0and [Matheus] Cunha have looked like United players from the start, just in terms of their confidence,\u00a0power\u00a0and strength.<\/p>\n

\u2018But\u00a0now if Sesko can grow\u00a0\u2013 and he already looks physically better and quicker \u2013 then that is a big,\u00a0big thing.<\/p>\n

\u2018If Carrick can get the best out of him that means in the\u00a0summer\u00a0you can concentrate on other positions like in midfield with Casemiro leaving. You can concentrate\u00a0maybe on\u00a0a full-back and a centre-back\u00a0because they do still have problems in those positions still that need dealing with.<\/p>\n

\u2018But\u00a0maybe now\u00a0you can leave the attacking players because you\u2019ve\u00a0got Sesko, Cunha,\u00a0Mbeumo, Bruno, Amad, Mount \u2013\u00a0they will cause problems to any team.<\/p>\n

\u2018Michael Carrick has doubled or trebled the value of the United squad from where they were under Ruben Amorim.\u00a0He\u2019s\u00a0made players that we doubted look like really\u00a0good players.<\/p>\n

\u2018That will please the owners of course because\u00a0there\u2019s\u00a0been so must waste\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0untrue.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0a complete transformation.\u2019<\/p>\n

Manchester United\u2019s resurgence under Carrick has taken them above top-four rivals Aston Villa and Liverpool and just eight points behind second-placed Manchester City.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils will hope to continue their bright form on Wednesday night when they travel to St James\u2019 Park to face Newcastle United.<\/p>\n
