For years, Android users saw Apple\u2019s AirTag handle routine disappearances, while Google delegated the task to third-party devices. That gap was bridged this week. And at only 0.2 inches thick, it\u2019s a clear and pleasant contrast. The Pixel Tag, weighing barely 0.4 ounces with its battery inside, is available in only one soft grey-green color, Fog, as named by Google. The Pixel Tag is made of stainless steel and polycarbonate, with a little G logo sitting on the metal face next to a speaker opening, resulting in a basic yet effective design. The battery cover can be removed from the back by twisting it, and it accepts a regular CR2032 coin cell. Google estimates that the battery will last more than a year in ordinary use, and you can replace it yourself if necessary. Once linked, the tag displays in the Find Hub app, where you may name it to distinguish between your keys and your bag.
