The motor starts, and you\u2019re off. The current version of the system combines the motor, generator, inverter, reducer, and increaser into a single compact 5-in-1 module. Regenerative braking and smart software management of engine start-up and shutdown reduce waste. Drivers enjoy the smooth, peaceful ride of an electric vehicle while also being able to fuel up at a regular gas station.<\/p>\n<p>This run in Colombia is one of a series of long-distance e-Power demonstrations. Earlier runs in the United Kingdom and Australia, including Tasmania, demonstrated the system\u2019s ability to handle significant mileage in ordinary conditions.
