At least two people were killed and four more wounded in a mass shooting Saturday evening at a street festival in Toronto, Canada, authorities said. The shooter remains at large.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Toronto Police Service described the situation as an active shooter incident. It occurred in Midtown Toronto during the Salsa on St. Clair festival, a popular annual Latin festival\u00a0that draws hundreds of people, according to CTV News. <\/p>\n

Police said\u00a0on X that officers responded to find six people with gunshot wounds, two of whom died at the scene. <\/p>\n

“Public advised to stay away from the area,” police said.<\/p>\n

No suspects had been taken into custody, police said. No details were immediately provided on the circumstances of the shooting.<\/p>\n

“I am devastated by the senseless violence at the Salsa on St. Clair Festival that has claimed two lives and injured others,” Ontario “Premier Doug Ford said in a statement to X. “…The person responsible must be caught, brought to justice and spend the rest of their life behind bars.”\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
