Jimmy Jack McDaniel sat behind the wheel with two visitors from Germany along for the ride. He had tried this before with success or so he later told officers. McDaniel and his passengers made it safely to dry land near the shoreline and abandoned the truck. They called for assistance quite quickly. Grapevine police came around eight o\u2019clock and discovered the truck half immersed in the lake. The function is designed to allow the Cybertruck to handle shallow water crossings such as rivers or creeks. It does come with certain limitations, such as drivers being only allowed to do this in shallow water, keeping the doors and windows closed, and not exceeding 20mph when it is first triggered. Of course, owners are responsible if they have water damage, which is normally not covered by the guarantee. The officers pointed out that the area where he attempted the stunt was already off-limits to vehicle use. In Texas, an automobile in the water is considered a boat, therefore you must have the proper registration and safety gear. McDaniel was accused of driving in a closed location and failing to register his watercraft. He was also punished for not having life jackets or a fire extinguisher on board.
