In March,\u00a0<span class=\"link\">Dennis Coyle<\/span>, a 64-year-old academic and language expert from Colorado, was <span class=\"link\">released from detention<\/span>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ryan Corbett and another American, William McKenty, were\u00a0<span class=\"link\">released<\/span>\u00a0in January 2025, with the help of Qatari negotiators, in exchange for a Taliban figure who had been imprisoned for life on drug trafficking charges.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"link\">George Glezmann<\/span> and another American, <span class=\"link\">Faye Hall<\/span>, were released in March 2025, followed by a fifth American, <span class=\"link\">Amir Amiri<\/span>, who was freed last September.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The FBI Washington Field Office announced a reward of up to $1 million.
